Privacy Policy

How Tool Vault handles your data.

Last updated: September 8, 2026

1. Overview

Tool Vault ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Tool Vault. We provide free, browser-based developer tools. Your privacy matters to us, and this policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version: our tools run entirely in your browser — the data you type is never sent to our servers. We use cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate site usage only.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Because every tool runs locally in your browser, we do not see, store, or transmit the content you enter into any tool (for example, JSON documents, images, passwords, or text you format). Your input never leaves your device.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimal information needed to operate and improve the site:

  • Aggregate usage analytics — page views, referrer, browser/device type, and approximate country, collected via a self-hosted Umami analytics instance. This data is aggregate and anonymized; it does not identify you personally.
  • Contact information — only if you choose to email us at che24971@gmail.com. We use it solely to respond to your message.

4. Cookies

We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies. Our analytics provider is configured to operate without cookies, and we do not build advertising profiles. You can use the entire site without accepting any cookie banner.

5. How We Use Information

  • To understand how many people use the site and which tools are most popular, so we can improve them.
  • To respond to questions or support requests you send us.
  • To maintain the security and availability of the service.

6. Third-Party Services

We self-host our analytics (Umami) so that your usage data stays under our control and is not shared with advertising or data-broker companies. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

7. Data Retention

We retain aggregate analytics data only for as long as needed to operate and improve the service. Any emails you send are retained only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA, including the rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we collect so little information (and no cookies), there is generally nothing personal to access or delete — but you can contact us at any time with a request.

9. Children's Privacy

Our tools are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
